Since 2017 the federal government's tax credit for children's fitness amount and arts amount has been discontinued however, certain provinces and territories still allow you to claim a portion of the expenses you pay for your children's fitness and art activities.
This is what you need to know about claiming the fees paid for your kid's fitness and art expenses on your taxes.

Manitoba
Credit name: Fitness Tax Credit
Where to claim it: Form MB428 Line 58325
In Manitoba you can claim up to $500 for eligible fitness activities per child/young adult up to age 24.
This can be claimed by the young adult, or by a spouse or parent.
Newfoundland & Labrador
Credit name: Physical Activity Tax Credit
Where to claim it: Form NL479
In Newfoundland and Labrador you can claim up to $2,000 per family for the fees paid on registration in an eligible physical activity program or organization membership for
yourself
your spouse/common law partner
your children under 18 years of age at the end of the year
Nova Scotia
Credit name: The Children’s Sports and Arts Tax Credit
Where to claim it: Form NS479
In Nova Scotia you can claim up to $500 per child for sports and arts programs.
Eligible expenses include membership fees, uniforms and equipment.
Quebec
Credit name: Tax Credit For Children's Activities
Where to claim it: Line 462
In Quebec you can claim up to $500 per child for physical activities or artistic, cultural or recreational activities.
Eligible expenses include registration or membership fees for a minimum period of eight consecutive weeks (or at least five consecutive days in the case of a summer camp).
To qualify for this your family income cannot exceed $146,450.
Yukon
Credit name: Children's Fitness Tax Credit
Where to claim it: Form YT428 Line 58440
In the Yukon you can claim up to $1,000 per child, under the age of 16 at the start of the year, for eligible fees paid.
Eligible fees include the cost of registration or membership for your (or your spouse/common-law partner's) child in a prescribed program of physical activity.
